How to Add and Edit Snippet or Block ?

Cake provides flexible snippets and blocks settings that allow users to freely customize a personalized resume. Below is a detailed guide on how to operate these features:

  • Enter the Resume Page

  • Add Snippet

  • Edit Snippet or Block

    • Snippet Editor

    • Block Editor

Enter the Resume Page

  1. After logging in to your Cake account, access the dashboard.

  2. Selecting "Resumes" on the dashboard, or clicking your profile photo on the top right and choosing My Resumes from the dropdown menu.​

  3. Click the “Edit” button at the bottom left of the resume to enter the editing interface.


Add Snippet

Find the snippet you want to use from the snippet list on the right.
Hold and drag the snippet into your resume to add it. If you wish to add more snippets later, click the “blue + button” to open all snippet categories.

Note: Drag the snippet from the right panel into your desired location in the resume. When a "green frame" appears, release the mouse to add it successfully.

Snippet Categories

  • Profile: Displays your basic information such as name, contact details, and job title—your resume’s key introductory area.

  • Lists: Uses bullet points to present skills or experience in a clean and readable format.

  • Paragraph: For writing introductions, descriptions, or detailed explanations.

  • Image: Insert profile photos, work samples, or project visuals.

  • Video: Embed video links for introductions, demos, or presentations.

  • Slide: Embed slide decks to showcase projects or concepts.

  • Quote: Highlight key phrases, testimonials, or mottos.

  • Map: Mark location details.

  • Page Separator: Insert a horizontal line to separate content.

  • Page Break: Create multi-page boundaries.

Note: Cake offers many free snippets. However snippet tagged with "Pro" require a Premium upgrade for advanced designs and layouts.


Edit Snippet or Block

Click the area you want to edit. The Snippet Editor appears on the right. The Block Editor appears on the left.

  • Fix spelling & grammar: Automatically correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar for clearer writing.

  • Translate to: Instantly translate text into Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, English, Indonesian, or Vietnamese while maintaining meaning and tone.

  • Make shorter: Condense content while keeping information.

  • Make longer: Add details to enrich content.

  • Change tone: Switch tone to formal, casual, concise.

  • Convert to bullet points: Turn long paragraphs into readable bullet points.

Snippet Movement

  • ​Drag to Move Snippet: Hold the icon and drag the entire snippet to new position.

  • Move Up Snippet: Click it to move the snippet upward.

  • Move Down Snippet: Click it to move the snippet downward.

Snippet Background Color

  • Snippet Background Color icon: Click it to change the background color of the snippet.

Snippet Duplication and Deletion

  • Duplicate Snippet: Click it to create a copy of the entire snippet.

  • Delete Snippet: Click it to remove the snippet.

The Block Editor includes Cake AI, block movement, block duplication, and deletion.

Duplicate & Delete Block

  • Duplicate Block: Click it to copy the entire block.

  • Delete Block: Click it to remove the block.
