How to Change Theme, Snippet, and Paragraph Font Colors?

Cake provides flexible customization features that allow users to personalize their resumes by adjusting the color of theme, snippet, and paragraph font. Below is a guide on how to make changes of:

Theme Color

You can use the "Theme" feature to quickly apply a cohesive color scheme and layout style to your entire resume. Follow these steps below:

  1. Enter the resume edit page.

  2. Click the "Palette" icon in the upper-left corner.

  3. Find "Theme" in the menu.

  4. Click to view the five professionally designed theme provided by Cake.

  5. Select your preferred theme. The system will automatically apply consistent style across your resume, including:

    • Color scheme

    • Layout style

    • Font selections


Snippet Color

Within the resume editor, you can directly click on any snippet you want to modify. Once selected, the Snippet Editor will automated appear on the right side. If you want to change the background color of a snippet, follow these steps below:

  1. In the resume edit page, click the snippet which background color you want to change.

  2. The Snippet Editor will open on the right.

  3. Find the ”Paint Pot" option.

  4. You can choose colors in two ways:

    • Use Cake’s preset palettes: Choose from multiple designer-curated color sets for a quick, polished look at the Default Page.

    • Customize your own color: Enter any Color Hex Code to personalize the snippet color freely at the Custom Page.


Paragraph Font Color

You can use the Paragraph Font Color feature by clicking the Palette icon to apply consistent text color across all Normal-format paragraph font.

How to Change the Paragraph Font Color?

If you want to adjust the color of paragraph font in your resume:

  1. Enter the resume edit page.

  2. Select the snippet that contains the paragraph text you want to adjust.

  3. Click the Palette icon in the upper-left corner.

  4. Find Paragraph Font Color.

  5. Once selected, the system will update the paragraph font color for all "Normal-format" text across the entire resume.

Available Paragraph Font Colors

There are currently three options:

  • #0E0E0F Black Russian (deep black)

  • #3F3F42 Black Smoke (graphite gray)

  • #AAAAAA Dark Gray (dark gray)


Notification

  • When you change a snippet background color, the system will automatically apply a default, matching font color based on the background:

    • White background → Black text

    • Any other background color → White text
      (This setting cannot currently be manually changed.)

  • It is impossible to:

    • Change paragraph font color for only one snippet

    • Change the font color of specific words or individual text segments
      (The system applies paragraph font color which you set to the entire resume at once.)

  • Default colors for headings and text are displayed within the Paragraph Format.
