Cake allows users to build their own professional network. The following explains how to connect with other users and common scenarios for doing so:

  • How to Connect with Other Users?

  • Who Should You Invite as Contacts?

How to Connect with Other Users?

Go to the Dashboard and click “Connections" in the left-hand menu. You can connect with other users through the following methods:

Import Contacts

Click "Import my Contacts" in the upper right corner to import contacts from Google, Slack, or Outlook and send invitations.
If the recipient does not yet have a Cake account, the invitation email will guide them through the account registration process.

Connect via “Explore”

In the Explore tab, you can view users who have invited you. The system also categorizes users based on shared attributes—such as the same company, school, or field—to help you quickly find people to connect with.

View Connections

In the Connections tab, you can see users who have already connected with you.

View Invitations

In the Invitations tab, you can view invitations that you have received or sent.

Who Should You Invite as Contacts?

On Cake, you can send a connection request to other users who have created a Cake profile. In addition to inviting friends, common scenarios include:

  • Job seekers → Employees or HR at target companies: Ask for job search advice

  • Job seekers → Professionals in the same field: Exchange professional knowledge

  • Employers → Potential candidates: Invite them to apply for job opportunities

  • Recruiters → Suitable candidates: Share job opportunities

After becoming contacts, you can:

  • Give Reputation Credits to your contacts.

  • Get a Reputation Credit on Cake for yourself.
