How to Use Cake AI Career Strategy?

Cake AI analyzes your profile, resume, job preferences, and goals to deliver personalized career advice, helping you understand how well you match a job, identify skill gaps, and discover opportunities that align with your career direction. Below is a detailed guide on how to operate these features:

Access Career Strategy

There are two ways to get started:

  1. From the top-right menu

    • Click your profile picture in the top-right corner.

    • Select "Cake AI" from the dropdown menu.

    • On your first visit, Cake AI will introduce its features, click "Continue →" to start building your Career Strategy.

    • Click "Career Strategy."

  2. From the left sidebar

    • In your dashboard, find the "Cake AI" section in the left sidebar and click "Career Strategy."

Note: Your first use of Career Strategy is free. After that, each use costs 20 credits. Before you begin, make sure you have at least one resume built on Cake, or have a PDF resume ready to upload.

Build Your Career Strategy

Choose a Language

Select your preferred language from the "Choose a language" dropdown.

Cake AI will use this language throughout your experience.

Available languages: Traditional Chinese, English, Simplified Chinese, Bahasa Indonesia, Tiếng Việt, Japanese.

Note: Please choose the language you are most comfortable with, as it affects how Cake AI interacts with you.

Select a Resume

Under "Open your profile or upload a resume," choose one resume to use:

  • Cake: Click "Cake," then select a resume from your list (a green checkmark appears when selected).

  • PDF: Click "PDF" to select from previously uploaded files, or click "Upload a file" to upload a new PDF.

Click "Build My Career Strategy," then click "Confirm" to proceed.

Review Your Career Summary

Cake AI reads your resume and generates a "Career Summary," including: current role, years of experience, industry, education, languages, skills, and key highlights.

To correct any field, click the pencil icon on the right side of that field, make your edits, and click "Save."

Once everything looks correct, click "Looks good to me!" to continue.

Note: If a field shows "Unable to load information, please input manually," add the details manually, the more complete your summary, the more accurate your strategy will be.

Answer the Questions

You'll enter the "Your job search preferences and goals" stage, with approximately 10–15 questions covering four themes: career direction, work style, salary expectations, and work preferences.

  • Each question is a checklist (single or multiple choice), with an optional free-text field below.

  • Click "Next" after completing each page.

  • If you want to go back to last question and edit answer, click the pencil icon on the right side of that field, and click "Go Back."

  • Cake AI dynamically adjusts subsequent questions based on your previous answers.

  • Track your progress with "About X questions left" shown at the bottom-right.

  • Once you finish, click "View Career Report" and wait a moment, the page will update automatically when your report is ready.

View Your Career Strategy Report

When the report is ready, the page header shows the last updated time and source. Click the section titles on the left to navigate between four tabs:

  1. Career Path Overview

    • Your recommended career direction, with common job titles and their English equivalents

    • A description of what the work looks like

    • Your "What You Bring" (strengths) and "What to Work On" (areas to develop)

    • Why this career path suits you

    • Things you should keep in mind

  2. Market Landscape

    • Salary Range chart for your recommended title in the Taiwan market (TWD/yr)

    • Markers for the Market Median and your target salary position

    • Growth potential for this career path

  3. Job Preferences

    • "Preferred" and "Not Preferred" conditions auto-generated by Cake AI based on your answers

    • Click the pencil icon to edit any condition, or click "+ Add Preference" to add one manually

    • Check the " Mark as must-have" checkbox to mark a preference as a must-have requirement

    • These preferences are used as the matching benchmark in Job Insights

  4. Next Step

    • A shortcut to "Analyze Jobs now"

    • 3–5 specific, near-term action items recommended by Cake AI

"Refine This Content" Feature

Each section of your strategy report has a chat icon labeled "Refine This Section" in the top-right corner. Click it to send feedback to Cake AI on that specific section:

  1. Click the "Refine This Section" icon to open the "Refine this with Cake AI" dialog.

  2. Enter your feedback in the "What would you like to change?" field.

  3. Click "Refine" to submit, then click "Sounds Good" to return to the strategy page.

  4. Submitted feedback will appear under "See Cake AI Refinements" in the top-right corner of the Career Strategy page.

  5. Click "Apply" then "Confirm" to apply the suggested refinement.

  6. Applied refinements will be marked as "Applied."
