How to Use Cake AI Job Insights?

Cake AI Job Insights analyzes each job against your career profile and background, evaluating your match level, identifying skill gaps, and providing salary benchmarks and interview strategies. Here's how to use Job Insights:

  • Go to Job Insights Page

  • Add a Job

  • View Report

  • "Refine this section" Feature

Go to Job Insights Page

In the left sidebar of your dashboard, find the Cake AI section and click Job Insights.

Note: Make sure you have completed setting up your Career Strategy before using this feature. Analysis results are based on your Career Strategy.

Add a Job

There are two ways to add a job. Click the “Add Job” dropdown in the top-right corner of the page and choose how to add:

  • Click "Add Cake Job" to add a job directly from the Cake platform:

    1. Search for a job using keywords in the search bar.

    2. Use the All, Saved, or Applied tabs to filter jobs.

    3. Click the job you want to analyze, a checkmark will appear on the right.

    4. Click "See My Match".

    5. A credits confirmation popup will appear, click "Confirm" begin the analysis.

  • Click "Add External Job" to paste a job URL from an external platform (LinkedIn, Indeed, etc.):

    1. Enter the job page URL in the Paste the Job URL field.

    2. If you can't get the URL, click "Or paste the job details manually" to paste the job description text directly.

    3. Click "See My Match".

    4. A credits confirmation popup will appear, click "Confirm" to begin the analysis.

Note: You can also install the Cake AI Chrome Extension to analyze any job listing with one click while browsing, no need to copy and paste URLs.

View Report

Once the analysis is complete, the job will appear in the list with the following information:

  • Initial match result

  • Match summary

  • Date added

  • Application status

  • Job source

  • Click the " ⋯ " to:

    • Edit Job: Update the job title, company, job description, employment type, seniority level, years of experience required, work arrangement, profession, work location, and salary range, then click "Save".

    • Reanalyze: click "Confirm" to re-run the AI job analysis (costs 18 credits). Use this after updating your Career Strategy or editing job details.

  • Click the Application Status dropdown to update your current application stage.

  • Click "Apply" to go directly to the job application page.

Note: In the promotion period, only need 9 credits to reanalyze job insights.

Report Content

Click "View Report" or click the title of the job to expand the detailed analysis panel on the right. The report covers three areas:

  1. Match Analysis

    • Overall Match Conclusion: Displays the overall match assessment with a written explanation and action recommendations if you're considering applying.

    • Skills & Experience: Evaluates your background against the job requirements, including: core skills, language ability, qualifications & certifications, work experience, and industry background.

    • Job Preferences: Compares the job against preferences set in your Career Strategy, including: salary, industry, company type & business model, and work location.

    • Culture & Environment: Evaluates work culture and style fit, including: work environment, team collaboration, management style, and company culture.

    • Salary Benchmark

    • Benefits

    • Salary Trajectory

  3. Interview Strategy
    Generating an interview strategy requires no credits. Click "Generate Interview Strategy" to create a strategy that includes:

    • Position analysis

    • Positioning strategy

    • Key experiences

    • Things to prepare

    • Questions to ask

Click the " ⋯ " to open dropdown menu

View Report

Generate Interview Strategy

"Refine this section" Feature

Each section of the analysis report has a chat icon labeled "Refine this section"in the top-right corner. Click it to provide feedback to Cake AI for that section:

  1. Click the chat icon"Refine this section" to open the "Refine This Section with Cake AI" dialog.

  2. Enter your feedback in the "What would you like to change?" Job Insights field.

  3. Click "Refine" to submit, then click "Sounds Good" to return to the report.

  4. Your submitted feedback will appear under "See Cake AI Refinements" in the top-right corner of the page.

  5. Click "Apply" then "Confirm" to apply refinement (costs 8 credits). Applied refinements will be marked as "Applied."

  6. Click "Dismiss" to ignore refinement. Dismissed refinements will be marked as "Dismissed."
